Join ASI to celebrate the 80th annual Svenskarnas Dag at Minnehaha Park in Minneapolis! Midsommar activities kick off at 10:30 a.m. with a worship service, followed by the midsummer pole raising. A program of Nordic music and dance begins at 12:15 p.m., including performances by folk group Bjärv, the Scandinavian Saxaphone Quartet, playing folk music, jazz, baroque and more, and Swedish troubadour Joel Karlsson. Other special performers include guests from the Swedish TV show “Allt for Sverige,” music by the ASI Male Chorus/St. Paul Swedish Male Chorus, the Svenskarnas Dag Girls Choir, and the Vasa Junior Folk Dancers. You can also visit with vendors and exhibitors, purchase Swedish meatballs and other goodies, and stay for the “Swede of the Year” awards and the crowning of the 2014 Miss Svenskarnas Dag Queen. And don't forget to stop by ASI's booth and say hi!
