Welcome the arrival of summer with us at this year’s Midsommar Celebration! This family-friendly day includes performances by a variety of musical and dance groups, including the men’s choir from Sweden, Västgöta Nations Manskör Korgossarna.
Join us at 11 a.m. for the maypole raising, singing and dancing, or at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. for more singing and dancing around the maypole. We will be serving traditional Midsommar fare and fun festival food, so don’t forget to bring your appetite!
Other highlights include slöjd (handcraft) and glass-blowing demonstrations, flower head wreath making, face painting, storytelling, and nature play activities.
ASI’s Midsommar Celebration is included with museum admission, which can be purchased day-of at the event. Consider going “green” and either biking or taking public transportation to the event. The full schedule will be posted here when it is available.
