Ingrid Bergman would have celebrated her 100th birthday on August 29th. Next Wednesday, September 9th, Embassy of Sweden will honor her with a spectacular ceremony, together with the United States Postal Service, and commemorate three new postage stamps featuring the Swedish screen siren. High level participants will include keynote speakers will include Ms Bergman’s daughter, Pia Lindström, the U.S. Postmaster General and the Director of Swedish Post and Swedish American of the Year 2015 Emily Tepe will sing Sweden’s national anthem. Emcee for the event will be Arch Campbell.
Following the ceremony a glamorous 1940’s Hollywood style dance party in House of Sweden will have the Georgetown waterfront rocking as guests swing to the sultry tones of Kayo and Cotton Club.
Throughout the evening experts from Swedish Film and Swedish Institute will be on hand to discuss two new exhibitions about Ingrid Bergman.
