Midsummer Celebration at the American Swedish Historical Museum

Midsummer, American Swedish Historical Museum

The weather was perfect and the people in their "high spirits" as the American Swedish Historical Museum, nicely located in the scenic FDR Park in Philadelphia, held their annual Midsummer celebration on June 22. The over 400 guests, of many different nationalities, enjoyed the raising of a traditional Midsummer pole, dancing, games, Swedish food and pastries, live music, flower wreaths, Viking items and much more. When too hot, there were always an opportunity to cool off by taking a tour inside the museum. Or alternatively, a cold beer or lemonade.
